Mother's generate gender differences in field of study choices

Mothers - not fathers - seem to socialize their children into gender-specific fields of study.

Whereas previous studies have mainly focussed on fathers, mothers might play a crucial role in reducing gender differences in fields of study. The complete study can be found here.
